.. ordered CD on amazon uk about a week ago ...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Forever-Aled-Jones/dp/B0058NUP68/ref=sr_1_6?s=mu...
I'm puzzled. Can't find any details of the album on the forum or website at all or am I missing something? No track listing either on the Amazon ad. Would want to see this before ordering.
Hi Aled,
Just read the track listing and it sounds fabulous. Can't wait for it dropping through the letter box. Particularly want to hear your duet with Beth, I reckon it will be amazing. Good Luck with this new CD. Could it be your best to date? Keep Smiling. Love Gill
Hi Amity’s Nan and Gill,
I must say that when I saw the Amazon cover picture for the CD, I thought that the album cover is really excellent.
As you might have seen from following through from Aled’s Blog, Amity’s Nan, on page 4 of the news the track listing itself has now been added.
The track listing given on Page 4 of the news section is MAJESTY, FEELS LIKE HOME, BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER, A LIVING PRAYER (DUET WITH BETH NIELSEN CHAPMAN), FOREVER, HUSHABYE MOUNTAIN, LET IT BE ME, THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE, WE CAN BE KIND, FOOTPRINTS, I WILL, BETTER THAN I, THAT’LL DO
I don’t know all of the songs but there are some lovely pieces, and what an inspired choice of duet with Beth Neilsen Chapman! There are going to be some very, very happy bunnies with the inclusion of Bridge over Troubled Water and Hushabye Mountain, which lots of folk have requested previously. Big smiles for Nia!
I reckon this is going to be a very special album. I agree with you, Gill - I think it could be the best to date too.
Best wishes from Cal
Thanks for giving the track listing Cal. Why isn't it on a post in the music section? I didn't think to go trawling back down through the news pages. I have to admit I don't come on here very much now because of the lack of posst. There seems to be so few people posting - very sad as it's such a good site now. Hopefully it will liven up a bit when the tour starts.
The full tracklisting is fabulous Aled! It was a lovely surprise to find just after you posted it last night. ![]()
I love all the familiar songs - and thank you yet again for including 'I Will' and 'Hushabye Mountain'.![]()
Wonderful, thoughtful lyrics in 'We Can Be Kind' by the way - a very meaningful choice. There are a few unfamiliar songs, which I'm sure as with your gorgeous surprises on your 'Christmas Gift' album, they'll become favourites very, very quickly. I can't wait too, to hear the song you've written yourself, which I'm guessing might be 'Forever'. I'm sure it'll be divine.
The superb way your voice has matured even further and your insightful choices of the songs here, I agree with Cal and Gill too - this definitely promises to be your very best album yet - which is really saying something, considering the magnificent quality you've given us already with all your other albums.
I'm awaiting FOREVER's release with great excitement!!

Loving the look of the tracklist for the album! I may have almost squealed when I saw Bridge Over Troubled Water there and Hushabye Mountain ![]()
Fantastic choice of duet with Beth and lots of other great songs there so roll on the release date and the tour! Great to see you've been writing again so I agree with the others that this could well be your best album yet. Bring it on!
Have just seen this too and got v excited!! :-) Must get off my bum and get a ticket for the tour!! Can't miss this !! Am I too late to help collect at Rhyl Brina? x
... listed on my amazon.co.uk ....
All of the best Aled ...
Hi,
Does anybody know whether the album is going to be available at the concerts before the release date?
I go for the concert on Sept. 21st in Croydon and this is the only chance for me to have the CD signed by Aled ![]()
So I'd love to have the possibility to buy it at the concert instead ordering it online afterwards when I'm back home...
Hi Magda,
The new CD will not be on sale at any of the shows. The record label will not allow it as not released untl the 26th September - and also the sales have to be registered via the corrrect channels to be chart worthy etc. So sadly this is a no but you can buy a tour brochure and have that signed by the great man himself or a Best of Aled album which will be on sale. We hope you enjoy the show.
Best - Dave - The AJ Team
Thank you, Dave for your answer.
A bit disappointing but I understand the reasons.
Fortunately, I’ve already got some CDs and two books I bought before so I will come to Aled with a pile of items to sign
But I’d love to have also the newest one signed as I probably will not have another opportunity to do so.
However – I found out a perfect solution! You can help me
Just set the next quiz with the prize – Forever album signed by Aled with personal dedication for the winner. The quiz will be for overseas non-native English speakers only ;-) and with the questions about e.g. Polish literature ;-)
Isn’t it a brilliant idea?

Well, I haven't been around in a looonnnnnnnnnnnngggggg time (yes, for those of you who knew/know me, it really is me!)
However, I had to log in and post when I saw the track listing, I've been campaigning to get Bridge over Troubled Water on a CD for YEARS!!!!!
Thank you, thank you thank you Aled for finally recording it as an adult.
It's been a v-e-r-y long time Kyresa...welcome back to the fold.
Susie xx
It certainly has been a long time. As soon as I saw BOTW on the tracklist, I knew you'd be VERY happy. I remember many a forum/real life discussion about it!
Hope you're well barring the current broken ankle.
You'll have to imagine the appropriate smileys in this post as they appear to be playing up tonight so this is the 3rd attempt at writing this post!
Well hello you!! I've not been around for a bit either - but not as long as you lady!! When I saw the track listing I also thought woo hoo - then thought immediately of you!! How the heck are you missus?! This new website is fab - seems a shame the forum ain't what it used to be. Must get back to coming here regularly - just busy now and totally loved up with my new hubby (Oh I have been a very busy girl!) Lol. xx

Hi guys, and thanks for the messages :) Lovely to hear from you all! I wonder if Bev still pops in!
I'll just have to hope Aled remembered me at the back of his mind when doing BoTW :D
Lots of love to you all - :)

You certainly have, Kyresa! It’s great to see your post. Sorry to read about your ankle – I hope it’s soon fully recovered.
I love your photos in the fan section, Eleri. Brilliant.
I’m looking forward to the arrival of the album next week. In the meantime I’m wondering whether the TV ad will make an appearance on ITV1 tomorrow evening, as happened with previous releases. My guess is just before Downton Abbey. I wonder....?
Best wishes from Cal
I've just had the delight of listening to the sample clips of all of Aled's tracks on "FOREVER" on Amazon UK, and I'm running out of superlatives. WOW....breathtaking... gorgeous....stunning ....all burst forth, and having been one of the very blessed witnesses to Aled's even richer, superbly maturing voice that launched itself on the Australian Tour a year ago, Aled's renditions of the songs, even in these small samples, are absolutely beautiful.
You've done it again Aled....'FOREVER' is a divine album! You deserve to feel very proud! The warmth, emotion and richness in your voice brings tears to my eyes. I'm aching to hear the full works.
Susie xxxx
I've heard all the samples on Amazon too and it does sound as though it's going to be another amazing album! It's been lovely to hear some of the tracks in full at the start and end of radio interviews (which in themselves have been great and askign some different questions) so I can't wait to get my hands on the full album and put it on repeat for a few days!
Well no longer do I have to listen to snippets - my CD arrived from Amazon this morning!!
Off to go listen now :)
Lucky you, Kyresa. I ordered mine from Amazon as soon as I saw it advertised but it wasn't dispatched until 24th so will hopefully arrive tomorrow. Really disappointed!
I went and bought the album today after I'd been skating and thanks to driving half way round the North West, I'm already on my second full listen. (And I'll be on my third by the time I get back home!)
I've heard several songs already on tour and love them but hearing them all 'in context' as it were on the album....well I think wow, gorgeous and beautiful are the first words that have come to mind. I think 'Footprints' is the only one that'll take a couple of listens for me to really appreciate, because I'm still associating songs like 'Footprints in the Sand' with that poem. Other than that, love love LOVE all the songs, and it was wonderful to put the album on and straight away get guitar and drums.
How on earth you managed to do 'The First Time...' in one take I don't know, but you're right...it really does work! My concentration levels on the motorway may possibly have slipped slightly whilst that track was on!
Your voice has changed again since the last album and tour I'm sure, but this style of music really suits you, Aled. Both on the album and on stage, it really looks/sounds/feels as though you're having fun with the music, and as always you're giving your all to every piece.
I won't go through the album track-by-track here, but the duet with Beth is just stunning (even though I've already heard it twice live), and I love 'Better Than I' which I'd not heard before. You suit the worship song style of music well so I'd say you're probably safe to sing more of that in the future. Loving your song 'Forever' (I think it's growing on me with each listen) and of course 'Bridge...' and 'Hushabye..' (which is one of my all time favourites so thank you for recording it), and 'That'll Do' are wonderful songs.
A MASSIVE thumbs up from me and it's definitely going to remain a firm favourite album. Wonderful song choices, wonderful voice, and here's hoping it's the success it deserves to be for you!
See you on Sunday in New Brighton :)
I have got the CD "Forever" which is fabulous the title track but I must
I have never heard "Footprints" before and think this going to be my
favourite track on there, has anyone else got a favourite yet.
But I think the whole of the CD is fantastic, so well done Aled and
hope it sells great because it deserve to!
Just love the album Forever on my ipod ready for my holiday in Spain visiting my son and family just great songs love I will and Forever well done everyone busybeex
Forever came yesterday from Amazon, haven't stopped playing it since. Hard to pick a favourite but Feels like Home, I will,Let it be me and Better than I are up there. However A living Prayer(beautiful, the two voices blend fantastically) and That'll do are I think my personal favourites. I was so pleased to see That'll Do on the playlist as it has long been one of my favourites since I bought the Babe in the City cd. Next cd Aled could you please sing Billy Joel's And so it goes. It's played over the credits on Billy Joel at the Yankee Stadium and i would love to hear you sing it. Can't wait now for October 16th at Christchurch xx
... IMO the CD is jolly nice, and we also like the crackling effect done to 'Let it be me'.
Shame about the 'Gunners' plug in Aled's sleeve-notes though ...
I haven't bothered with getting the album from Amazon, I bought mine from Tesco's. Will be listening to it as soon as possible.
Barbara
Dear Aled, perhaps the Forum is quiet because we are all so engrossed in lstening to Forever! Love, Sandy
Apparently this post triggered the spam filter as a response to your blog but.......The new album is A-MAZ-ING to do a Craig, and I've had it on constant repeat in the car since it was realeased and it's been the perfect antidote the the chaos of moving house! My friends who were at the concert on Sunday also now have a copy of the album and love it too. Definitely got another couple of fans there :)
Oh how I love 'Majesty' I play it over and over again! What a beautiful track! thank you Aled for recording it! I also love most of the other tracks - especially 'Footsteps', 'you know better than I' and ......oh and .........err -oh yes and ........... yes -most of them!
I keep missing Tv/radio apearances -except GMS and SOP! I will just have to visit this website more often!
Off now for a dose of 'Majesty' before bedtime -listening to it last thing is a real blessing!
thanks Aled for such a lovely album!
It's a lovely album, Aled. Particular favorites in our household are Majesty (we totally agree with Brina and Angela and do hope that you will consider including more modern worship songs in your repertoire), both Randy Newman songs (beautiful), Forever (another amazing talent in your composing skills), Living Prayer, of course, and I really love Hushabye. Oh, and We Can Be Kind is heartbreakingly beautiful too.
As has been said, congratulations to everyone, especially Aled, it's a lovely album.
I bought the download and not the album itself -so seem to have missed something of the credits here!
Did you write 'torever' Aled" - I had no idea you were writing songs now! it is beautiful!
What next I wonder?
I think one of the lovely things about this album is the way that the mix of different genres works so well -definitely your best yet! Even the songs I was not so keen on are stealing their way into my 'love it' list!
I really would like to hear an album of songs for Children -definitely including 'Puff the magic Dragon' and would Emilia duet something with you?
Having heard this album though -I think a love song album would also be pretty wonderful -
I can't get to the concerts - or White Christmas - but would love it if you would record DVDs of one of the concerts and of White Christmas - I had hoped for one of Chitty!! ![]()
I will try to catch the tv appearances!!
Hi Aled Congratulations on your new CD Forever, I got my cd just after the release, love all the songs but find "The First Time Ever I Was Your Face" very emotoinal at the moment, as recently I became a Grandmother & I think of my Granddaughter Isabelle-Rose everytime I hear you sing this song; Also love hearing you sing them live in concert as well. Love Dawn
Have now listened to the album quite a few times and think it is brilliant. Aled your voice is like wine, the more mature it is the better it gets. I love your own composition "Forever", as well as "Majesty" and I find "Foot prints" is really toe tapping.
I wish the words were available for all the songs so I could have a good sing-a-long. Someone mentioned the crackling effect on "Let it be me", but I can't hear it. Is it all the way through?
Hi Yvonne,
The words of the songs are easy to find just by googling each of the song title lyrics. For example, if you google "Majesty lyrics", several sites will pop up. Thank goodness for technology! ![]()
The only lyrics you won't find is Aled's composition of "Forever", but Aled's enunciation is so clear, you should be able to note the lyrics down yourself. My tried-and-true method for hearing every word really clearly is to listen through headphones in a quiet room - no distractions that way. Just play it over several times until you have it all. Alternatively, I'll ask permission to see if I can note them here for you.
Susie xx
My deepest apologies for my extremely long absence from here, but living still in the relatively-Aled-free zone I haven't had much to contribute lately, UNTIL NOW! Anyway, I was able to get my order of Aled's new album via CDON only some time ago, and the CD successfully landed on my doormat just yesterday. I have deliberately kept my ears closed regarding to any soundbites that might be on the web, and needless to say, the silence was worth for every second. Dearest Aled, I'm beyond adjectives to describe the feeling that I had earlier this morning when I gave your new album the first listen, even the word "SUPERB" is a gross understatement! Goosebumps and tears all the way... Your voice is as stellar as ever, but I can notice it having matured even further, both in terms of having a wider vocal range (no more straininess á la "Places!) and in terms of interpretation and timbre. There are so many more different nuances that you now can cultivate in your songs, and this is one of the factors that makes your music pure bliss, not just aural one, but for every single sense there is. The tracklisting revealed many similarities to other recent albums of e.g. Rhydian, Katherine Jenkins and others, but you have succeeded to choose the songs so well that they all sound as if YOU were the one for whom they were written! Definitely something that not many albums (especially those with cover songs) can achieve, so please be proud of that!
Also, the orchestration of each of the songs is done more than brilliantly, your crystalline voice definitely comes to its own when there are not too many instruments around. Of course many of your songs with a bigger orchestral background do sound great as well, but with a smaller lineup, the music becomes much more intimate and closer to the listener, and that way, speaks to the soul even more. Once again, my warmest congratulations, not only to you Aled but also to the wonderful team of musicians etc. that have been involved in making this album a reality, too bad that your name is still practically unknown here in Finland and your albums unavailable from street stores because music THIS beautifully done really SHOULD be heard across the world! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, keep up the great work!

i really love the aklbum, my favourite song on it is that'll do, so an uplifting track, it was unbelievable when i heard it being sung at stevenage, it made me cry
I’ve been listening to “Forever” constantly for a month already. The album arrived to me sound and safe long ago. I transferred it to my mp3 player and since then Aled goes with me everywhere – rides my bike with me, does the shopping or helps me cleaning my flat ;-)
I needed pretty much time to get ready to write my “review”. What I always do is taking to pieces every song I like. With “Forever” I started with getting to know the lyrics of all songs. I don’t mean just understanding as I didn’t have bigger problems with it (I love Aled’s clear pronounciation) but I wanted to make out every metaphore and find the poetry hidden somewhere between the lines. And the process is not finished yet... :-)
Next I concentrate on the music. I love doing a thing that may seem strange to some of you but it’s a great fun – I put my headphones on and decide “Now I’m listening to the strings only” or “Seek for traces of brass instruments in the background” and completely ignore the remaining content of the song. I love analyzing songs like that – with good pieces of music you’ll never get bored with it! For me it’s a good way to comprehend the richness of the arrangements. I can taste the full beauty of the song as a whole then :-)
My absolutely top pieces are Majesty and Footprints – so energetic and uplifting – both in terms of music and lyrics. They caught me at the first listening!
Also my favourites are Hushabye Mountain, The first time I ever saw your face, Forever, We can be kind and the penultimate stanza of Better than I :-))
I do like the crackling effect in Let it be me. Absolutely great and fresh idea to make it retro-style. I at once imagined a black and white clip for this song – Aled in a tail-coat and top hat with a white rose in a buttonhole... :-)
Thanks Aled for this album! I really, really love it :-))
LOVING IT!! Had it for a while but not had peace to JUST listen. Also - spoiled it by listenign the first time after hearing a fabulous live concert. Now that memory had faded :-( Listenign to this in the car is brilliant.
So funny Aled that you have been in my life so long -and how although I knew I loved BOTW when I was an anst ridden teen - hearing it now transports me back and reminds me just how much you have helped me thru my life. And in the end my love of you and involvement with AFHH led me to the love of my life - who lives just down the road from Ty Gobaith - don't anyone tell me that wasn't written somewhere :-D

lerri, forever, it must have been written with you in mind
